A mysterious link showed up in my texts last week from a PR colleague asking me to RSVP to an event called Choosy Tues.
Of course I did and was excited to see what I had been invited to because it seemed exclusive. That Tuesday after the fried chicken sandwich event I journeyed across I-10 to the address on Providence to find out what I had chosen.

I stepped inside and felt like I had entered the 1970’s lair of one of Andy Warhol’s biggest fans. The atmosphere was very eclectic, and the venue was decorated with a variety of seating options. It honestly looks like 8 different living rooms inside of one room, and I’m here for it.
With sounds by DJ Elevated of the well known duo Soul Control the energy of Choosy Tues is smooth enough to go alone or attend with a friend or two. With multiple bars to choose from you’ll never go thirsty, although I don’t drink I enjoyed a mocktail and a topo Chico while vibing to Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse surrounded by interesting art and some of Houston’s most laid back individuals.

Jordan Lee Harris of Who’s Who PR is one of the geniuses behind this new and fresh take on Houston’s night life, “the space has been open, and the weekends are pretty packed but we wanted to bring in a different type of crowd for an elevated experience during the week, hence the dj.” Harris said with a chuckle when I asked him about Choosy Tues.
While the venue is advertising for their weekend events as of right now Choosy Tues is only open to guests who have RSVP’d via the link. If you’re lucky enough to get invited by a friend who is on the list I suggest you attend as soon as you can, and respect the kitty.

There’s nothing else like this happening in Houston, and I would venture to say that there’s nothing like this happening in any city anywhere. I’m interested in watching it evolve as more people find out about this bohemian hideaway disguised as a lounge.
